Wind Speeds, Span Tables, Means of Egress, Energy Efficiency, CFM s and ICC..... Join us Wednesday, August 14th, for a 4-hour session that dives into the world of BUILDING CODES. Dave Yelovich, CGB, CGP will guide us through how we got the IRC (International Residential Code) and touch on some of the highlights throughout that book.
From Basic information determined by each city to some of the most common inspection failures due to oversights from Chapter 3 of the IRC (Chapter 3 is a biggie!) We will also review topics from other chapters covering foundations, framing, mechanical aspects, and other items we may take for granted. Then, besides coming to understand what the code book says, we will look at tome of the amendments College Station and Bryan throw into the mix. Sometimes building code compliance can keep your head spinning but with some basic knowledge it may allow you to sleep a little better each night.
